Here are a few of the many benefits volunteers receive when they volunteer
in a literacy program:

Requirements

Volunteers must;

  • Be age 18 or older;
  • Hold at least a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent;
  • Be Reliable
  • Be willing to follow directions and guidelines;
  • Exhibit patience, compassion, and sensitivity to others;
  • Want to improve our community;
  • Must be willing to make a time commitment (varies according to location).

 

APPLICATION

After you submit your application, you will be contacted by the Literacy Coalition or a member organization.

 

Training and Orientation

Training and professional events are free to interested and current volunteers, teachers and tutors. Member organizations may offer additional training and support.
